Book talk with Ala Ebtekar – Thirty-Six Views of the Moon
Join Stanford University for a talk and reading with Ala Ebtekar on Thirty-Six Views of the Moon, his new monograph comprised of a collection of photographs, night exposures — left from dusk till dawn and exposed by moonlight on book pages from texts referencing the moon and night sky spanning the last ten centuries.
Following the talk will be a panel discussion with the artist, Ala Ebtekar; and book contributors Alexander Nemerov, the Carl and Marilynn Thoma Provostial Professor in the Arts and Humanities at Stanford; and Ladan Akbarnia, Curator of South Asian and Islamic Art at The San Diego Museum of Art; moderated by Kim Beil, associate director of the ITALIC interdisciplinary arts program at Stanford.
